Ready to kick off your day with some serious walleye action? Join us on Lake Erie for a morning fishing adventure you won't forget. We're talking prime-time bites, stunning sunrises, and the chance to land some hefty walleye before most folks have finished their coffee. Our 6-hour trip is the perfect mix of early morning excitement and laid-back Lake Erie charm. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting your feet wet, Captain James knows how to put you on the fish and make sure you have a blast doing it.
We'll meet up bright and early at our Vermilion, OH dock – the exact launch spot will be set once you book. Sunrise is our sweet spot for starting time, but we can flex a bit if needed. You'll hop aboard our well-equipped charter boat, and we'll cruise out to where the walleye are biting. Over the next 6 hours (or until you hit your limit), we'll be trolling, jigging, and doing whatever it takes to get those rods bending. The morning bite can be red-hot, so be ready for some fast action. As the sun climbs, things might slow down, but that's when Captain James's local knowledge really shines. He'll keep you on the fish all morning long.
On this trip, we'll be using a mix of techniques to target those Lake Erie walleye. We might start off trolling with crankbaits or crawler harnesses, covering water to find active fish. Once we locate a school, we might switch to vertical jigging with blade baits or soft plastics. Captain James will show you the ropes if you're new to these methods. We use top-notch gear – think sensitive rods, quality reels, and fish-finding tech that'll have you wondering if we've got X-ray vision for the lake. And don't worry about bringing your own stuff – we've got you covered with all the tackle you'll need.

Walleye are the stars of the show on Lake Erie, and for good reason. These golden-eyed predators are known for their tasty fillets and the fight they put up on the line. In Lake Erie, walleye can grow to impressive sizes, with fish over 10 pounds not uncommon. They're most active during low light conditions, which is why our early morning trips are prime time. Walleye tend to hang out near the bottom, often in schools, so when you find one, you've usually found a bunch. Spring and fall are peak seasons, but summer can be productive too, especially if you know where to look (and Captain James does). The thrill of feeling that telltale 'tap-tap' on your line, setting the hook, and battling a big walleye to the boat is what keeps anglers coming back to Erie year after year.
Look, there's nothing quite like starting your day on Lake Erie, rod in hand, watching the sun come up over the water. Whether you're looking to stock your freezer with some of the best-eating fish around, or just want to experience the thrill of Lake Erie fishing, this trip is your ticket. With room for up to three anglers, it's perfect for a family outing or a day out with your fishing buddies. Remember, the fish are biting, and spots fill up fast. So why wait? Book your Lake Erie morning walleye charter now, and get ready for a day on the water you'll be talking about long after you're back on shore. Trust us, there's no better way to spend a morning in Vermilion, OH than chasing walleye with Captain James!

Walleye are a prized catch here on Lake Erie. These golden-olive fish typically run 15-25 inches and put up a great fight. You'll find them hanging around rocky structures and drop-offs, usually in 10-30 foot depths. Spring and fall are prime walleye seasons, but we catch them year-round. Folks love targeting walleye for their delicious, flaky white meat. They're also fun to catch - when they hit, it's like reeling in a submarine! Walleye have excellent low-light vision, so dawn and dusk are ideal times to land the big ones. If you want to increase your odds, try slow-trolling with crawler harnesses. Work those breaklines where deep water meets shallow - that's where walleye like to ambush bait fish. And don't forget to bring your appetite - there's nothing better than fresh walleye for dinner after a day on the water.
